When I heard about the opportunity to photograph an all natural at home birth, I immediately said yes. Was I scared to witness the realities of giving birth? Slightly. I waited to receive a phone call from Erica letting me know that she was going into labor. I felt like "on-call" employee, but I was driven to capture the moments where Erica, her husband and children to finally got to meet baby Malachi.
I honestly am so happy I photographed these moments. It was beautiful to witness a mother's first interaction with the child she was bearing for 9 months (In Erica's case almost 10!). Not to mention - Erica made giving birth looked super easy. I loved the love in this family's home. I could feel it, I could touch it because it was so obvious.
